I haven't received my e-mail confirmation for booking online, why is this?

Tickets purchased on-line between 5pm until 9am for the following day will not be processed until after 9am on the morning of the following day. If you have not received your email verification on the morning before leaving to travel to Loudoun Castle, alternatively we will accept your Google checkout receipt to verify your order.

Do I still need to pay if I am not going on any rides?

Yes, all guests must pay entry but remember our admission fee allows entry to the full theme park and castle grounds, free entry to our daily live shows, visiting our educational farm centre and access to all rides for free all day! (With the exception of the Go Karts in which a separate charge applies) Some adults may also be required to accompany their children on certain rides. All guests must pay admission to enter the park.

I’m with a large group – do you offer any special rates?

We have a range of ticket options to suit all types of groups and schools. In fact, many of our packages for groups offer great savings. Check out our Groups Section for more details.

Can I return to my car once I have paid and entered the theme park?

Once in the Park you are of course free to leave and re-enter at any time using your wristband as proof of paid entry. Wristbands are valid for the day of purchase only.

Can I pay with credit or debit cards in the theme park?

Loudoun Castle accepts payment by all major credit and debit cards at our Theme Park Admission Kiosks.

Unfortunately our catering outlets do not currently have the facility to take payment by card or cheque.

Are there any cash machines within the theme park?

There are no cash machines inside the park but a cash back option is available at our Admissions kiosk.

Is Loudoun Castle just a theme park?

Loudoun Castle is well known as being Scotland’s family theme park but the fun doesn’t stop there. At Loudoun there’s plenty to keep you occupied. Why not visit the farm area and take a look at our wide variety of animals plus enjoy feeding and learning about them from our farm staff. Every day Loudoun hosts great shows and also Rory, our park lion has his own show for the kids to dance along to. Loudoun has plenty to keep you entertained all day. How do I get to Loudoun Castle?

From Glasgow or Ayr on the A77 road heading towards Kilmarnock, take the A71 to Edinburgh (where you will see the brown information signs) follow this road for approx 10 mins, taking you through Hurlford into Galston. From Edinburgh take the A71 junction off the M74 heading towards Kilmarnock, follow this A71 road all the way to Galston where you will see the brown information signs. Is there plenty of parking at Loudoun Castle?

Loudoun Castle provides free parking for all guests, regardless of whether you arrive in a coach, a minibus or a car! Likewise, we provide special parking bays close to the entrance for our guests with disabilities.

Do you cater for young children?

At Loudoun Castle, we offer a great day out for all the family from kids to grown ups. Our selection of rides ensure there is something to suit all ages from thrilling coasters to mini rides for the youngsters to enjoy. Be sure to check out the Rides Section of our website to view our rides.

Are there any places to eat within the theme park?

Loudoun has its own places for guests to eat. We have our Coach House Restaurant which serves delicious meals for you to enjoy. Our Ships Wheel Cafe also provides food in our walled garden and the Tea Barn provides food and snacks in the farm area. In addition to this there are numerous kiosks and a burger van in the park ensuring that no rumbling stomach goes unanswered. See our Eating section for more information.

Do you have First Aid facilities at Loudoun Castle?

We have a dedicated First Aid Facility within the theme park, which is staffed by fully qualified staff members. First Aid Staff on duty are not trained doctors or nurses and therefore legally they are only permitted to initiate basic first aid treatment of which they have been fully trained.

Do you provide access for those with disabilities?

Loudoun does cater for guest with disabilities, call us on (01563) 822296 for more details. Guests with disabilities will pay full entry price and the carer will come in for free.

Can I buy my tickets in advance?

You can book online through this website and make a substantial saving by paying for your tickets well in advance of your visit. Visit our Booking Section of our website for more information.

What happens if I lose an item of property within the theme park?

If you discover that you have lost an item of personal property within the Park, please report to the Information Point located nearby the Carousel and just outside the Ships Wheel Cafe in the walled garden.

All items of lost property are taken to the Information Point and we always do our utmost to ensure that every item is reunited with its owner.

How long are the queues?

Queue times will vary depending on the time of year, the popularity of the ride in question and the amount of guests we have in the park at any given time. Please refer to the calendar of opening dates on this website. School days are generally very busy.

Is there anywhere to leave my bag when I'm on a ride?

Here at Loudoun Castle, we always advise our guests not to bring bags or valuable items with them into the Park. In the interests of health and safety, bags and loose items are not allowed on any of the rides and attractions within the park. Likewise, Loudoun Castle does not accept any responsibility for articles brought into the Park or left unattended and rides staff are not responsible for looking after any articles left unattended at rides.

What happens if the weather is really bad?

We would certainly advise our guests to always dress appropriately for the weather conditions. There is little cover within the park, should it be wet, and we would advise all guests to be prepared for rain. Waterproof ponchos are available from our gift shops in the event of guests being caught in the rain.

Should there be extreme weather conditions during the day, certain rides and attractions may be temporarily closed in the interests of health and safety. This information will, however, always be communicated as quickly and efficiently as possible to all guests at the entrance to the Theme Park.

Can I bring my pet to Loudoun Castle?

Unfortunately, in the interests of health & safety, our guests are advised that all pets (with the exception of Service Dogs) are not allowed within the Loudoun Castle grounds. Please also be aware that, on hot days, pets locked inside vehicles can suffer in the heat. If you are planning a visit to Loudoun Castle, we would kindly advise you to leave your pets safely at home.
